Millers Road
On Saturday we checked out Pauline's garden projects at Millers Road. Broad beans in the raised garden beds are a great success. There are also amazing numbers of Tui in the Kowhai trees. Nice to see a bit of sunshine.
Mary's birthday
Saturday was Mary's 51st birthday. The event was celebrated by the return of Mary's ashes home to Paengaroa. Roger cooked a great kiwi roast for all and Grace organised a birthday cake with chicken decoration. Roger has recently acquired some new chickens.

Tulips and Dutch Festival
The 10,000 tulip bulbs at the Hamilton Gardens are in full bloom and today was the Dutch festival.
Bill and Fonsa came over on the bus with all the Tauranga Dutchies.
Bill found the erwtensoep and I found the home made stroopwafels!

Alice Springs September 2010
A very unusual town (pop 20,000) in the Red Centre of Australia.
Often very cold at night - followed by clear sunny days
Not really a safe place at night.
The coffee was good, markets are held on Sundays.
Photos show views of the town,
the Council Offices with solar panels over the entrance,
the Todd River in flood (rare - it is normally dry..!) and
our visit to check out the local caffeine merchants ....
